Nursery Care

The mission of the Nursery at Christ United Methodist Church is to provide a safe, fun atmosphere for babies and pre-school age while their parents are in church or Sunday school. We strive to be an exemplary nursery by providing a structured environment where children receive the best care while learning the love of Jesus through Bible stories, songs, creative play and crafts. Nursery care is provided for children 6 months to 4 years of age during all Sunday morning worship services and nursery can also be provided during most of the week-day and evening Bible studies and many church-sponsored events.

Children’s Sunday School

At Christ United Methodist Church, we have a strong commitment to our children. Every Sunday, our classrooms are filled with excited children eager to learn about the love of Jesus Christ.

Children’s Worship

Children’s Worship is available for children, Kindergarten through 5th grade during the 11:00 services. Children attending this late service will stay with their families until Kid’s for Christ, then will be escorted to C8 for a special, interactive worship service prepared especially for them.

Confirmation Classes for 6th Grade Students

Students in sixth grade have an entire semester dedicated to their crossing from children’s ministry to youth ministry. This class is offered every year in the spring semester on Sunday nights. Our children’s ministry coordinates this course, and teachers for the class are the program and ministerial staff. The children’s and youth ministry have formed a strong partnership to offer our 6th-graders a comprehensive and successful Confirmation program.
Confirmation classes meet 5:00 - 7:30 PM Sunday from January until May in the Atrium Room of the Annex.

Special & Seasonal Events for Children

The Christian year is full of special times and celebrations and Christ UMC brings many of these to light in a child’s perspective. Each year we host several events that coincide with these holidays. We bring in the Advent season each year with a children’s Advent celebration and each Easter we celebrate the risen Savior with a special breakfast and egg hunt the Saturday before Easter. Children can look forward again this Easter Sunday to a spectacular butterfly release that brings to life the symbol of the risen Christ. Summer would not be summer without Vacation Bible School, and Christ UMC has become know throughout the community for a very dynamic VBS. Each year offers a different theme where the love of God is displayed to the children of our church as well as to many in the community.

Mission Opportunities through the Children’s Ministries of Christ UMC.
Even the kids at Christ UMC throw themselves into missions and outreach. Each year during Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and other activities our kids are encouraged to give back some of what has been given to them. The kids at Christ UMC make very significant contributions when asked to contribute to special collections. Over the years we have collected school supplies, socks and stuffed animals for those in need. Children have given passionately to our soldiers overseas and have shared with those from our community through VBS collection projects.
