DIG Kids

We are so excited!  DIG fun is happening throughout the week now.  See below for details on Sunday Mornings (Nursery and Sunday School) plus Wednesday Night Kids.  We will still continue putting Sunday School videos online for as long as we need to for families that are not comfortable coming back in person.  This website will keep updating regularly, so bookmark it and come back whenever you have questions.  We are in this together!  God is bigger than anything and we are committed to partnering with you on the faith formation of your kids.

6th grade Confirmation

6th Grade students are invited to participate in Confirmation during the Spring Semester. Confirmation is a large and exciting step in a 6th graders personal faith development. It is an act of commitment, a beginning of a lifetime of spiritual discovery and an opportunity to claim the name "Christian" for themselves.. It is a wonderful opportunity to make a personal commitment to become a follower of Christ, student of the Bible, a servant to others! Confirmation @ Christ UMC begins January 12th - Sundays from 5-6:30pm in Big House.

Will you prayerfully consider being a confirmation mentor? The next generation needs you! Being a mentor is a wonderful opportunity to disciple young students in a journey of faith. Together you will focus on living as a follower of Jesus Christ and lead confirmands to take the step towards professing their Christian faith as their own. Mentors will attend a mentor training, spend 2 hours a month with their confirmand (Jan-April) and come to the confirmation reception/service. It will be a great and fruitful experience! Covid-19 policies and procedures

The Re Entry Task Force, Children's Re-Entry Advisory Team and Children's Ministry Staff worked hard and developed procedures that will implement sanitization and social distancing practices to keep your families and volunteers healthy.  Things will look differently now, just as with everything else in our world.  We want to provide you as parents with all the information you need.  With your help implementing these practices we can ensure a fun, loving environment for your kids to learn about God's love and grow in their faith!  Please read the following documents for details on the new procedures that will be followed.  We will continue to modify the procedures as needed to reflect the current State Child Care Guidelines.

Online SUNDAY SCHOOL

If you perfer to continue Sunday School at home, we will still be bringing you videos every week! Click below and you will be redirected to our YouTube channel. Take about 30 minutes sometime this week and spend time with God and let Him fill up your heart!  Every week we will be updating our content to include a new lesson.  It will be in our emails and on our kids facebook page. 

Sunday School 1/10

This week, are we reading from Luke 12:16-21. We're learning that it’s tempting—and sometimes just human nature—to keep everything we have to ourselves. Even if we do manage to fill our lives with all the money and cool stuff we want, sometimes things happen to take those away. When you share what you have, you can invest time and resources into a lot of other lives than your own. You’re thinking about people, not stuff. That’s the kind of responsibility God wants His followers to have. And guess what? If everyone’s sharing, then no one is ever left empty.

Bottom Line: Share what you have.

Sunday School 1/3

As followers of Jesus, we have a responsibility to love God by loving others. One way we can love others is by doing what they expect us to do. We can do our chores, do our homework, follow directions, and obey our parents. And when we can be trusted to do those small things, God can trust us with bigger things. Jesus said it this way: Suppose you can be trusted with something very little. Then you can also be trusted with something very large. So this week, we are learning to love God and love others by doing what is expected of us.

Bottom Line: Love God. Love others.

If your kids are anything like mine, they are going to want screen time.  Right Now Media is a GREAT christian option.  And if you have not already signed up, you get a free account through Christ UMC!  It has great cartoons and live action shows for kids of all ages plus short Bible Story and Devotional videos as well.  And there is wonderful teen and adult content too.

Our Vision and Mission

DIG Children's Ministry focuses on laying a Biblical foundation, planting seeds of faith, and digging deep into God's word. We believe that faith formation happens both in the church and in the home, and want to come alongside parents to equip and empower them to be leaders in their child's spiritual journey!

Our ministry exists to bring children into age appropriate WORSHIP/SUNDAY SCHOOL where they will KNOW they belong to the family of God, GROW in their relationship with Christ and then go SHARE Christ in the world!

DIG Kids is led by a team of staff and volunteers whose passion is children!  Our goal is to provide a FUN and interactive program tailored just for kids no matter what age and grade to help them know Jesus and grow spiritually as they build meaningful relationships with other childrena nd adults!

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Sunday School

 DIG Sunday School uses Gospel Project Curriculum and explores scripture and stories from the Old and New Testament. The Gospel Project® for Kids immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God's story of redemption. 

9:30 am | Children's Worship and Sunday School - DIG kids worship is a special 20 minute worship designed for children. Children experience many elements of worship including reciting of the Apostles' Creed and Lord's Prayer, collection of offering, fun praise and worship, a bible story video, games and a mini-sermon or object lesson.  5th-6th graders are given leadership opportunities as they lead many aspects of the worship service.  At the conclusion of the big group worship service, children break into grade-specific sunday school classes.  *During COVID, we will be rotating classes through worship in Big House, sitting socially distant and sanitizing between groups.

9:30 Drop-off and Pick-Up:  Children's building circle drive (look for the green DIG Kids flags).  Drop-off begins at 9:15.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT KIDS

Wednesdays | 6:30-8:00 pm | BIG House

Wednesday nights are FUN for DIG Kids and their families! Bring to their own fun programming while there are many Adult Discipleship studies for you to join.

FALL 2020 - Starts Wednesday, Septemeber 2nd!

Childcare for Adult Bible Studies and Kids Bible Studies WILL be happening, just with our new screening, social distancing and sanitization protocols in place.  We have some fun things planned for the kids!  Register today.
