At this time, information received from UM ARMY states that they do intend to move forward with UM ARMY this summer. But they go on to say they are working toward contingency plans in the event they need to make changes to the schedule.
Regional Mission Teams (RMT)
Regional Mission Teams are conducted throughout the year through Youth and Adult ministries. They provide a wonderful way to help serve in a community and experience a spiritual journey with fellow Christians.
By definition, Regional Missions are conducted within the United States and many trips do not leave the state of Texas.
There mission trips focus on community service for the elderly and disabled homeowners and provide a rich Christian environment for all participants.
Examples of existing Regional Mission Trips:
High School U.M. ARMY
UM ARMY's mission is accomplished each summer when thousands of youth and adult volunteers sacrifice a week of their vacation to join God's ARMY. Using a local Methodist church as a base camp, they sleep on the floor and provide free home repairs for low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners. Projects will include painting, wheelchair ramps, siding repair, window repair, porch & step repairs, landscaping, mowing, home cleaning & organization, etc.
College U.M. ARMY
College UM ARMY is an extension of High School UM ARMY and in many cases, the experienced college aged participants are in key leadership roles in the camp. While the camp is conducted for college students, adults are needed to provide preplanning, financial support, project support and resources to ensure a safe and successful camp.
Youth Choir Mission
Each year, the youth choir travels for a week to share their gift of song and faith within the United States. Their overall mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world through song and spoken word.
Sr. and Jr. Mission Trip
Middle School Mission Trip
UM ARMY Middle School Mission is accomplished each summer when thousands of youth and adult volunteers sacrifice a week of their vacation to serve alongside fellow youth. Using a local Methodist church as a base camp, they sleep on the floor and provide free home repairs for low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners.
